Mathematical Poetry Blog

I set up a RSS feed, using blogsearch.google.com, of new pages that reference The Geometer's Sketchpad. The first useful result is from a blog about Mathematical Poetry. The blog is featuring artistic works currently and mentions one mathematical artist's use of Sketchpad.

Here is one fascinating example of Mathematical Poetry from an earlier post:

Hi,
Yes one could view it that way if you assumed that the energy laws of temptation followed the energy laws of physics. If so then I believe one would want to make what I call a paradigm poem using an existing scientific equation as a paradigm. (see paradigm poems in my taxonomy for mathematical poetry section on my blog) an example of a good paradigm poem may be Newton’s law of gravity between two body’s F=G(m1)(m2)/r^2 I think this is what you are eluding to. The choice is an aesthetic choice not scientific so you may say that you like following force as defined by physics and another person may find it more enjoyable to follow force being defined by some other intuitive method. Bottom line is there is no right or wrong however there is aesthetic judgment and you are perfectly entitled to express your aesthetic dismay at my definition. Even so I am honored by you stopping by my blog and hope you can find something to enjoy.

Thanks
Kaz
